2005 Benefit Laughter is the Best Medicine
On June 10, 2005, the Brain Research Foundation held its much-anticipated gala event. The theme, Laughter is the Best Medicine, focused on how humor and a positive out look on life can greatly benefit your health. A portion of the proceeds went to the Clown Care Unit and The University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital.
We were thrilled to honor comedian Jeff Garlin, co-star of the HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm, as the recipient of the Creativity Award.
Cheryl Burton of ABC 7 News was the Master of Ceremonies. There were clowns, and a performance by comedienne Patti Vasquez. The evening ended with the sounds of Laurel Massé. Guests participated in a raffle and a silent auction. We were happy to give 1st prize of $10,000 to Donna Christian, a University of Chicago employee.

Thank you to all of our sponsors and guests who made the evening a success.
