Terre A. Constantine, Ph.D.

Executive Director

Dr. Constantine is the Executive Director of the Brain Research Foundation. In her role as Chief Executive Officer, she provides professional leadership to the institution. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director supports the Board in all ways and develops a productive relationship with every member of the Board. Her primary duties are fundraising, internal and external relations, and managing the relationships and activities that fulfill the mission of the organization.

Because of Dr. Constantine’s background as a trained scientist, she understands the importance of research and the difficulty in obtaining funding for innovative ideas. One of the major reasons she left research was the uncertainty in the opportunities for investigators to find support for their labs. Dr. Constantine realized that she could play a role in funding groundbreaking research by becoming involved with an organization whose mission is to advance neuroscience research. She strongly believes that supporting scientific research can be just as important as performing the actual research itself.


Susan Gilman

Executive Assistant

Susan is the Executive Assistant of the Brain Research Foundation.  She joined the BRF with three years of non-profit administrative experience, and a background in event planning.  Susan obtained her BA from the University of Iowa with a concentration in Communication Studies and Journalism, and is currently working toward her Masters degree in Nonprofit Management at the Spertus Institute.  She is very passionate about working for an organization that makes a difference in the lives of others, and is honored to be part of the Brain Research Foundation.  Reporting to the Executive Director, Susan is responsible for the logistics of meetings and events for the BRF, collecting donations, assisting in fundraising efforts, and general office management.  


Glenda Hooker

Bookkeeper

Glenda is the Bookkeeper of the Brain Research Foundation.  She joined the BRF with over ten years of non-profit bookkeeping experience.  Glenda has had the privilege of living in Europe and in several states of the USA.  Having recently moved to Chicago, she was excited to find an opportunity to continue to serve for a non-profit organization. Reporting to the Executive Director and the Treasurer, Glenda is responsible for the day to day financial duties at the BRF.
