Lunch & Learn: The Dizzy Brain – Why Do We Get Nauseated?

Join us for a special Lunch & Learn session on January 14, 2025, featuring Dr. Hojun Lee, Ph.D., as he explores the fascinating science behind why we feel dizzy or nauseated. In his talk, “The Dizzy Brain: Why Do We Get Nauseated?”, Dr. Lee will break down how the brain interprets sensory chaos-from spinning on a rollercoaster to sudden physical distress-and why these signals often trigger nausea. This session will provide an accessible, science-based look at one of the body’s most common yet misunderstood responses.

Dr. Lee will also unpack how nausea acts as a protective alarm system, particularly when the body encounters threats such as food poisoning, infection, or toxin exposure. He will explain the neurological pathways involved and why identifying the root cause of nausea is crucial-especially for individuals experiencing it as a side effect of medications or chemotherapy. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how the brain processes discomfort and how these mechanisms influence treatment decisions.

The event will begin at 12:15 PM CT with the lecture, followed by a Q&A session at 12:35 PM CT where participants can submit questions directly to Dr. Lee. To reserve your spot, please register using the following link:
